Ford Launches Customer Carbon Offset Program

Santa Monica, Calif. --- Greener Miles, a new program offered by Ford and TerraPass gives Ford customers the opportunity to offset the climate impact of their driving. Individuals can visit www.terrapass.com/ford and calculate the amount of CO2 emissions that they generate. They can then voluntarily support renewable energy production to offset the effects of their driving.

Toyota and Lexus Vehicles Certified for New Energy Tax Credit

Washington --- Two 2007 vehicles now qualify for the hybrid tax credit that went into effect in January. The Toyota Camry Hybrid and Lexus GS 450h qualify for a $2,600 and $1,550 credit respectively. Buyers are encouraged to make their purchases sooner since the full credit is available for only a limited number of hybrids. Full Article

Students in England Show Off CLEVER Car

Bath, England --- A prototype vehicle, CLEVER (Compact Low Emission Vehicle for Urban Transport), offers an energy-efficient alternative for transportation . Chrysler to Expand Ethanol Lineups

In 2007, Chrysler will offer flex-fuel engines for the Jeep® Commander and Grand Cherokee. Flex-fuel vehicles run on E85 - a mixture of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline.

There's Still Time for Tax Savings

San Francisco --- The new hybrid tax credit that went into effect on January 1, offers taxpayers up to a $3,400 deduction. The credit is phased out once a manufacturer sells more than 60,000 hybrids. 'Crystal Sponge' A Hydrogen Breakthrough?
